Bayern won Schalke 5-0 inthe 19th round of the Bundesliga

Bayern home team followed the top of the table of Leipzig, after defeating Schalke 5-0 in the 19th round of the Bundesliga on 25/1.

Taking advantage of Leipzig’s 0-2 defeat at Frankfurt, Bayern pulled the gap down to one point. Club owner Allianz is scoring 39 points, after a series of six wins.

Starting the victory over the familiar bait is striker Robert Lewandowski. He led Timo Werner in the race to the title of “Top Scorer,” with the 21st goal. The last time the striker did the same was Gerd Muller, for Bayern from 1972 to 1973.

The great match helped the teachers and students Hans-Dieter Flick reach 55 goals, four more goals than Leipzig and Dortmund. It is the best achievement in the Bundesliga after 34 years. In the 1985-1986 season, Werder Bremen scored 57 goals in 19 matches, but was still behind Bayern because of the goal difference.

Bayern was good, but Schalke lost himself. Young goalkeeper Markus Schubert made two mistakes that led to the first and last goal. Since the number one goalkeeper, Alexander Nubel, was imprisoned on the bench by Schalke for demanding a transfer to Bayern, Schubert was awarded the first arrest. Things did not go smoothly for the 21-year-old goalkeeper.

In the sixth minute, he went in and out of the error and allowed Ivan Perisic to create for Lewandowski to open the score. The Polish striker also cleared Thiago’s score to 4-0 in the 58th minute, though he had a good chance of finishing.

Schalke was only dangerous in the first half of the first half, including a shot from Rabbi Matondo’s crossbar. On the other side of the line, Bayern still braked and twice put the ball into the net, but the goal was not recognized.

At the end of the first half, the host doubled the gap with a beautiful arrangement. Perisic fishes a ball for Leon Goretzka to head in front of Thomas Muller. Muller judged well and moved first, just in time to strike the ball into the near post.

This match Goretzka, is outstanding in midfield Bayern. His effort was rewarded with a goal that made it 3-0 in the 50th minute. He tipped the lamp to the bottom of the area to score, after a corner. The score of 5-0 was fixed by Gnabry in the 89th minute, with a shot from the left. Goalkeeper Schubert flew in the wrong direction and received a bitter fruit.

Totttenham did not win the fourth match in a row

Goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga saved a penalty in the 70th minute, helping Tottenham draw home host Watford 0-0 in the 23rd Premier League round on January 18.

Tottenham were penalized when captain Jan Vertonghen let the ball touch the ball in the penalty area. Troy Deeney takes responsibility for the penalty, but is caught by Gazzaniga in the face of the penalty spot. The visitors goalkeeper dropped to the right, pushing Deeney’s low kick.

Watford regrets the broken penalty, but they also have reason to be satisfied with a point. In the second minute of injury time, the host replaced Ignacio Pussetto to save the ball on the line after Erik Lamela’s finish. Referee Michael Oliver has to solicit VAR before determining there is no goal for Tottenham in this situation.

Totttenham did not win the fourth match in a row

Penalty phase and VAR intervention situation are two distinctly rare highlights in the London derby without too many exciting happenings. Tottenham is more appreciated, but the captain Harry Kane’s injury makes their shots less mutant, when both Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura do not have the necessary sharpness.

Meanwhile, Watford continues to give it no coincidence that they are unbeaten in the last five matches (won 4, drew 1) with new coach Nigel Pearson.

The home side’s defensive defensive football made Tottenham in the first half really uncomfortable. During the 45 minutes, Mourinho’s students only had about two clear opportunities. Moura failed to beat Ben Foster in the 38th minute, Son volleyed into the bar two minutes later.

Towards the end of the first half, when Tottenham appeared impatient, pushing the squad high, Watford began to counterattack. Deeney chilled the visitors with a comfortable finish, sending the ball into the right position of the Gazzaniga at the end of the half, and Doucoure hitting the edge of the net at the beginning of the second half.

Tottenham’s best chance came in the injury time with Lamela finishing, but the save on the lime line of Pussetto and VAR caused Mourinho’s teachers and students to leave with a 0-0 draw.

This is the fourth match in a row that Mourinho’s teachers and students have not won in the English Premier League, counting from the Brighton match at the Gift giving ceremony on December 26. In the last four matches, Tottenham drew Norwich 2-2 respectively, lost to Southampton and Liverpool with the same score 0-1, then drew Watford 0-0.

Man Utd reached a sad milestone after 22 years

Losing Man City 1-3 in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final on January 7 was the first time since 1997 that Man Utd conceded three goals in the first half of a home game.

The last time Man Utd had a similar bad result was 5/5/1997, in the draw of Middlesbrough 3-3 in round 36 Premier League. That day, Juninho, Emerson and Craig Hignett netted Man Utd in the minutes 15, 37 and 40.

After 22 years, Solskjaer is the witness of a sad milestone of Man Utd, this time as a coach. After conceding the first goal in the 17th minute, from Bernardo Silva’s long shot, “Reds” were swept away in the style of Man City, then received two more goals.

Mahrez doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, before Pereira scored an own goal because the ball bounced off the foot from De Bruyne’s shot in the 39th minute.

Man Utd played better in the second half, but it was only enough to shorten the gap to 1-3 thanks to Rashford. The team therefore still faces a difficult mountain when going to Etihad Stadium to play the semi-finals on January 29. League Cup history shows that the last 15 teams that won the first leg of the semi-finals all won tickets to the final.

Meanwhile, Man City have another important victory, helping them ease the disappointment from losing Man Utd 1-2 at home in the Premier League in December last. Great first half helped Man City have the 13th under Guardiola to lead at least three goals before halftime in away matches in all competitions.

Man Utd 1-3 Man City

In the same period, since Guardiola arrived in England in the summer of 2016, Tottenham has the best statistics behind Man City, with four times. Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Leicester and Swindon are all only three times, according to Opta.

The derby yesterday was also the seventh time Man City won in the last 10 times (the remaining draws one, losing two) as guests at Old Trafford in all competitions. This statistic marks the change of the Manchester half, because they have won only seven of 42 previous visits to Old Trafford.

Man Utd have to play again in the FA Cup

He missed many opportunities, Man Utd drew host Wolverhampton 0-0 in the third round of the FA Cup on 4/1.

Once the ball hit the crossbar and a penalty was denied, Ole Solskjaer teachers and students probably are not happy to have to play with Wolves again in the next 10 days. Man Utd’s schedule will be even thicker, as they have to strain on three domestic arenas. Their competitive density maintained about three days a game.

The two teams proved to be in balance, with dangerous opportunities dividing the two ends of the field. Wolves hosts only four positions and tries to impose the game. 13 minutes, from a corner, Dendoncker headed into the head of the far post. Matt Doherty was waiting to pad the ball into the net, but goalkeeper Romero reflected quickly and pushed the ball into the corner with his hand.

Wolves 0-0 Man Utd

The most remarkable situation of the first half came in the 31st minute, when Dendoncker controlled the error and was banned from Williams by the ball. Attempt to save the Belgian central defender Williams fell down. Referee Paul Tierney did not cut the whistle, then VAR also confirmed no fault of Dendoncker. The Molineux spectators cheered after the home team was not penalized, then shouted slogans against VAR.

The visitors were more sorry with 70 minutes, when the Wolves player broke the yard. The visitors quickly gave Greenwood, leaving the 18-year-old striker to make a clearance for Rashford to face the keeper. Rashford takes the ball long and his kick hits the defender’s opponent, then bounces off the crossbar.

Wolves quickly responded. 76 minutes, Jonny cross ball for Doherty headed into the net Romero hit the net. But the goal was disallowed because the ball touched Doherty’s hand before it went into the net. Five minutes later, Raul Jimenez wisely pressed to eliminate Maguire, then broke into the narrow right corner. Without a support partner, Jimenez went over the bar and went over the bar.

The two teams will play again at Old Trafford on January 14 or January 15. Between these two matches, Man Utd will play two matches at home, against Man City in the semi-final first leg of the League Cup and Norwich in the Premier League.
